I have the same phone company for my internet and phone. I have DSL for internet connection. My question is this, can I have my phone line(service) cancelled and still keep internet(DSL connection)? Asking more as Tech question not if company will allow it. My DSL does run thru a phone line if that makes a difference. Thanks for help, not to up on technology in that arena. I want to get rid of my land line, never use with cell phones in the house. Tired of paying just for state/fed taxes every month.
Yes you can. I reduced with AT &T. I had DSL and land line. You can keep the DSL only and save 30.00-50.00? by canceling the land line connection.

To side track this conversation. I have AT&T and their DSL. I pay $25 for DSL and $22 (for phone) yes that includes taxes and everything. So if your paying $50 and not using it there are lower options if you want to have a landline just in case.

switch to the call 50 plan, 50 free calls per month. Slight charge per call after break even point with “unlimited” was about 65-70 calls when I checked several years ago. The cool thing is each month the bill tells you how many local calls you made so you know what your habits are and can make an informed decision.

NO LONG DISTANCE. It is blocked on my phone. No taxes no nothing. I use a calling card if I need to call long distance and I can’t use the cell.

Use to get a $2.50 credit for not having touch tone activated (it still worked on my phone cause all switches have been updated but was a credit you could get just for asking, been getting it since I had a phone in '87) but about 6 months ago they took the credit away

my monthly bill with AT&T is $47.40 per month.
