Dry skin and chlorine smell

Nothing will prevent the smell, but you can limit it. The “chlorine smell” isn’t actually chlorine, it’s the products of chlorine/bromine interacting with the proteins and oils on your skin. As such, the absolute best way to limit chlorine smell is to take a shower with soap before entering the pool and ensure that you remove as much of that stuff as possible. Again, this won’t prevent the smell, but it will limit it. Also, it’s just plain common courtesy to wash before swimming. A lot of people at my gym run on the treadmill and then jump into the pool straight afterwards as if it’s a bath. That’s friggen nasty.

IMO, the only thing that truly removes “chlorine smell” is going for a long run, getting really sweaty and then taking a shower. You can smell it just coming out of me as I run, leaving a faint green trail similar to WW1 mustard gas. I embrace it. Those who get it, get it. The wife doesn’t get it and can’t stand it…
