DQ'd at race

This is just a personal opinion since I don’t know exactly what rules they were playing by and what race it was but a DQ for riding inside some cones on one corner?

That seems a bit harsh. Should things be that black and white out there?

Now I suppose that if it was a big championship race or some gross safety concern then it would be important.

To LuckyLuke: Could you give us more info on the race?

It’s not at all harsh. Assuming this was a left hand turn (here in the US of A), the OP went across the centerline and turned in the lane containing oncoming traffic. Whoever was in charge of controlling that intersection put the cones there to keep the racers away from oncoming traffic. What if there had been a car coming to the intersection (to make its own right turn, say) right when the OP was crossing in front? Head on collision.

Those cones and rules are there for a reason; often that reason is the safety of the racers and innocent bystanders. DQ it should be.
