I actually avoided the forum for Christmas and Boxing days. Didn’t realize it was down until this morning.

Well, on the one hand, it must make you feel good that you have created something so valued/popular that lots of people were aware that it was down and alerted you.
On the other hand, it is kind of sad that so many of us were checking every 15 minutes to 2 hours over Christmas and the two days following because we have nothing else to do.
We’re all Slowtwitch junkies, people! We need help!

somebody wrote me a couple of weeks ago that it was not appropriate they he spend so much time here because it was “only a triathlon forum.” i thought about that. going back over the quality and theme of the posts over the past year, i don’t think it’s only a triathlon forum.
tho, yes, there is a vague association with triathlon
It’s true. I just had to poke a little fun, since I was checking maniacally, though not for any particular reason.
We are all here because we have triathlon in common, and this is a sport that has a profound effect on you. Certainly, the off-topic threads get a lot of attention; sometimes they get more attention than the tri-related topics. I don’t know a whole lot of actual triathletes(I swim with three, and the lady who cuts my hair, and that’s it), so I get a lot of useful information here. And it’s nice to think that once in a while I can offer useful information, in addition to my caffeine or beer-addled opinions.
So thanks. And sorry if I’m using all your bandwidth.
