Bumping this thread back up to see if there is any interest as we are into Feb.
Just had a couple of email exchanges with Doug Stern. He would be available to throw a swim camp the weekend of 4/27 at Indianapolis area.
(Min 11 people. Max 15)
Friday evening 2 hours, Sat morning 2-3 hours, Sat late afternoon 2 hours, Sunday morning 2 hours.
We will need to have access to a pool though (min 3 lanes, 25 yrd pool). Any idea/suggestion?

Indy? Well, that is getting close enough for me! I might be in and can likely drag a few Cincy peeps there - lord knows there are plenty of cyclists here and terrible swimmers …
check with IUPUI, they have a great pool.

I’m in Indy and would very much be interested. Keep me posted. The IUPUI Natatorium is probably the best pool in Indy…if you can get it.
Ok so i assume you are in. I need to call IUPUI to see what the availability is. If u can think of any other options, pls feel free to call and let us know. Worst scenario, we can explore Bloomington YMCA or IU Councilman Pool (both are nice as well).
I am questionable at this time. My wife needs to have major surgery early next year which is not scheduled yet. If she is fully recovered or hasn’t had it yet then I am in…so count me as a very big question mark. That is the best I can do. Sorry
Also consider Fishers HS and Carmel HS… both have great facilities.
I contact IUPUI ASAP, as it is very hard to set-up pool time with the amount of competition meets they have.
Also, contact Whitney Diggs at the Jewish Community Center, as they have a pool.
David Smith (Wellness Director) at the Baxter YMCA on the South side of Indy.
Danielle Spears, she heads up the Masters swim Program at Baxters YMCA
Tom Nagel thru the www.circlecitymultisport.com as he has a contact at the Health Plex Sports Center.
Vern LaMere at www.fittechbylamere.com, as Vern has contacts around the city for this.
Not sure of a contact at the Jordan YMCA, but Tom or Whitney could help out on that. All can be reached thru our Club website listed above. Everyone listed is either a member of the Masters swim program or a triathlete.

there are plenty of options. look at pools on indy swim fit. I think the site is www.swimfit.com
Carmel high school natatorium is probably in a tie for second with the new fishers high school natatorium. Both brand new state of the art 50 meter pools . No world records set there like the IUPUI pool but sweet nonetheless.
If you are willing to drive to Bloomington (45 minute drive from Indy airport), there are 2 pools on the IU campus. I’m not saying they are available then, and I don’t know what the rental rates are, but you could check.
There is a 25 yard pool and diving well in one building (the pool where Mark Spitz and Gary Hall trained).
And the new pool, 50m, and diving well in the new student rec building.

Hi there…I am from Bloomington. I figure being in Indy it will be easier for people around Indy to come instead of driving another extra hour to Bloomington. Thanx for the heads up. In any case, it doesnt look like we have enough people. I will bump the thread again when the time is closer.
I live in Indy, and swim with the SwimFit masters group. I need all the help that I can get. I would certainly be interested, (this is absolutely no discredit to Doug as I hang on his posts like Kilroy), but the price is a tad salty. If I sign up for this camp, that is basically my whole racing budget for the rest of the year.
I agree with Rip. I would love to attend, but for those with a budget, it is a bit pricey.

Thanx Rodney. Let me know how many from ur end will commit. Once we reach 11, i will secure a pool. I have 2 from my end committed including me.
