Herbert, that’s what you get for hanging with the wrong crowd…

Am I the only person who is reminded of a Hummer limo? Head-turning, but also indicitave of more money than style or common sense?

If that bike is stiff enough for a pair of strong riders; and the rear end compliant enough to not beat the hell out of the stoker - with out a Softride beam in the rear…not at all a waste of money.

that’s just clever Photoshop work, right?

Hmmmm. Check out:

15 years ago, shaped and manipulated and internally butted ti tubes, Sweet riding yet massively stiff Jorgenson uptube design. Legendary fork, stems and welds and small details unsurpassed to this day, etc etc. All by a band of hippies and naer do wells under the guidance of no less than G Helfrich himself. T-H-A-T, viewers at home, is tandem porn. Nice try tho, L-speed - cute bike, I suppose.

No photoshop needed at all, we do actually build all of our titanium bikes here, custom or standard. We even do all of our own tooling, fixtures and dies, plus all of our small parts here in house.
We have actually built quite a few custom tandems over the years including road and mountain bike versions. We even recently built a triple version for a customer. But we do way more custom road and tri “individual” bikes.

I’m 200lbs and have a set of zipp 404 with the zipp brake pads. The braking performance is adequate for me, but I don’t know about adding another rider and not improving the braking. Now a zipp 808 with some burly clydesdale spokes (yeah maybe 32 of em) and a disc brake up front, bring on the 75mph+ downhills - E

How Much $$?

Dave in VA

Oh my Gawd, that is a bike. Spill your guts Herbert, how much for the frame? Looks like the toys on it are $3500. So we are talking high dollar here, but man is that da bomb. I thought Seven had a pretty one till I saw that beast. For the other folks, triples on tandems aren’t that bad if you live in the mountains as they weigh a bunch with two riders on one bike. Be sure to get real good brakes on those puppies. Man I know what I will be saving for. Thanks Herbert. G

I was wondering the same thing… why no discs, because I’ve ridden one of those babies with Dura Ace brakes and it’s pretty frightening! I’m pretty sure that there are some good carbon semi-aero forks made for disc brakes.

Dude.

I’d only ride on the back of that thing if Pamala Anderson was up front.

“Pam it’s imperative that we both stay as aero as possible at all times.”

“…you really want to ride the nose” so to speak.

I will actually have to find out from our UK office as the original order came from them.

very nice, well done!

It is late and my mind is too tired to think…why is it that the tandem is slower the regular bikes on the uphill?

I have been told that the frame should retail for about $7800.-

.

The chainrings look all weird.

The front rider only has a small chainring, and the back only a large one?

I thought they were supposed to be connected? What’s up?

That’s just Fuking Awesome. Nice photo Herbert.

I bet its pretty close to that 6.8kg limit too.

Well, not quite the UCI weight limit, but at just under 27 pounds not bad at all.
