Can anyone recommend a really good sports bra for the more well endowed? Did my first tri - a sprint - this wknd and thought double bagging it (the trisuit bra + my regular sports bra) would do the trick. Oh how wrong I was. Didn’t follow the “nothing new on race day” adage and was extremely uncomfortable within 10 minutes after getting out of the water. Unfortunately those pull-over-your-head jobbies don’t do it for my 34DDs.
Any suggestions? Do any tri suit manufacturers specialize in this sort of thing?
I ditto the Champion bra. I am not as well endowed as you are, but I have to double-bag it when I train. My friend has that bra and swears by it, but it will set you back about $45 (I’m sticking with double-bags for now).
Move aside small breasted babes as you have no idea what this is like. I used to try to squeeze myself into two or three bras which really didn’t work too well until I discovered the “ENELL” bra. I’m very gifted in that area - and sorry guys I have no intention of posting pictures - and the ENELL has been my saving grace. For shorter distances I just wear it under a swim suit, and for longer distances under my jersey which I wear under my wetsuit in the water. You can find out about it at www.enell.com. Best of luck.
I’ve been looking for the Enell bra (known as the Last Resort bra on the Title 9 site) since June. Oprah recently endorsed it on her show and now Enell says they are back ordered something like 20 weeks. Title 9 says they’ll have them to ship on Aug 20. but I doubt it given the tremendous increase in demand.
Steph, check the website for local stores in your area that carry them. I swear they are the best thing around but I must admit they aren’t all that attractive - ie I don’t go walking around in them like you can most sports bras.
Check out lucy.com, They’re a women’s - specific retailer. It looks like they have it. (No I’m not a psycho web stalker, I happened to work for lucy long ago and remember people raving about this product.)
I did see them in Jackrabbit when I was just there (I was there for two weeks returning Aug 11) but they didn’t have too many so I’d call before you make the trek from Manhattan. Best of luck.
Zoot has a new one piece tri suit with a very unique built in shelf bra/internal shimmel/funky supporter top sewn into it. It looks interesting to get into (I’m a guy so no I haven’t tried it on) but women who have tried it seem to like it a lot. Granted you’d still probably have to wear another underneath but it would provide more combined support than most tri suits.
I feel your pain! Moving Comfort makes a great bra for DD (They used to make a T back for DD as well— thank god I got 3 before they were discontinued - you did not think you could wear a workout top with DD’s did you). When I first started working out the sports bar was my biggest issue as well and one that fits well is vastly superior to 2 in my opinion.
The good news (at least for me) was the more fit I become and less overall bodyfat I have - and the smaller my chest becomes. Which for me means 32 DD is now 32 C/D depending on the garment.
I’m pleasantly surprised how many men have given some good, non-disgusting, suggestions. Proud of you, Tai. You truly the equipment expert from head to toes.
