Why ??

Good news actually. Another doper bites the dust.

Indeed!

who does he know, who does he train with
.

Exactly what I thought, it’s not bad news at all. I couldn’t read it but the only bad part is that the suspension isn’t long enough.

Did you actually read the article? It sounds like an anti-doping clusterfuck with a convicted doper still competing due to the French NADA being incompetent.

There were delays because Jeuland refused to cooperate or communicate with the anti doping authorities (which btw was facilitated by the fact that he was in the US at the time). It has nothing to do with “French NADA being incompetent.”

Can’t read French. Just tired of people being sympathetic towards dopers so I may have jumped to conclusions.

Not quite actually. One of my friends who is familiar with the situation has explained a bit that the issue is that each entity is responsible for a specific part of the process involved in doping cases and that to ensure that things were handled correctly, no one overreached etc. What’s puzzling however is that the club and the
athlete both remained very silent…But the French antidoping agency and the french fed just followed the process in place. And the athlete benefited greatly from a
big gap in how things are handled.

And the athlete benefited greatly from a

Three things are clear:

  1. That when there are gaps there will be certain people (athletes) who will try and exploit them.

  2. When a positive is found the culture of, “Deny, deny, deny” kicks in.

  3. Most athletes will try every angle, loophole an possible errors to get out of the positive - that’s why the officials HAVE to be vigilant in ensuring the process is clear and followed to a T.

So this guy gets notified of a positive test and he just ignores it like it’s some parking ticket and goes on like nothing happened for another year before he’s actually suspended.

Here are some info supplements:

For an athlete at this level, if indeed that is the case, that is being willfully ignorant. It’s not uncommon.

How this is done is going to vary from national federation to national federation. I know that in Canada when you qualify for any national level team in any sport, you are given a book about as thick as a bible with all the do’s and don’ts for PED’s* Seems onerous, but if you want to compete at this level these days, it something that has become part of the job of being an elite level athlete.

On the subject of supplements, the high level suggestion is to* take none* - then you eliminate the problem possibly taking something that has been contaminated.

Yup… the article says that Challenge missed whatever he was taking in Vichy too.

You can’t say Challenge missed… We can’t affirm is he was on something or not at that time. But the reality is when you are doing a test, you are targeting for X substances. Not everything.
