It looks like the student answered the phone and was talking while the professor was talking.

I had a professor in Law School who pulled a pretty cool stunt once. A bunch of students had developed an annoying habit of bringing tape recorders to lectures and leaving so they could do other things for a couple of hours. One day the pofessor got so tired of this behavior that she had those of us remaining collect all the recorders and they were put into a closet along with a boombox playing Barry Manilow’s greatest hits and then returned to their original locations at the end of the lecture.
I was an adjunct at the local community college for a couple of semesters (cant live on my TA stipend alone). I was teaching an lecture/lab and let me students know ahead of time that while it was ok for them to have their cell phones on during the lab (mostly I just walked around and made sure everyone was making progress no indepth lecture) they were expected to have their cell phones off during the lecture portion. Sure enough about the second week of class a cell phone rings during the lecture. The worst part was it was mine. oops. For my punishment the next week I brought them juice boxes.
lol… i’d like to take him to the movie theatre with me!!
I thought there was some discussion about theaters and other businesses trying to jam those signals but there were some FCC legal issues that killed the idea.
