Donating running shoes to africa?

so last year I had a friend at a local running store, he would get boxes of used running shoes together from his customers and send them to kenya, etc., so that aspiring young runners, xc runners, etc., would have something besides their bare feet to run or race in. this guy is long gone, but just got to thinking about that staring at my heap of old trainers. I know there is always the donation box at goodwill/salvation army, but does anyone know anything about that program? it might have been thru Nike? seemed like a cool program…

…enter rim shot sound here…

Nike’s program is a separate program, they send shoes to their workers. They need really small running shoes most of all.

They pay MJ how many millions and they want me to donate shoes for their workers in Bangladash or China? Interesting.

I’m sure those people (or kids) are grateful to be able to make a few cents. (Or are they shackled to the bench, they are probably denied “smoke breaks” too!)
