How big a door should I buy? I have a weim. he is still a puppy but I only want to buy one door. Will a 10.5 X 15 inch work?
I believe they have recommendations on size according to species. I have a yellow lab and love the door giving access to the back yard or garage. I can measure the door and get back to you if you like.

I have a Bernese Mountains Dog and a Lab. Their door(s) are 18 x 23 measured at the Frame. The actual panel they go through is 15 x 18.
They can fit through a hole smaller than you think. I have a door that is 10.5 x 15.5 and my friend’s gigantic 110 lb. American Bulldog fit through it with no problems. We were shocked when he came waltzing through it.
I am not worried about how wide the door is, just how high.
He’s probably as tall as a short weim. American Bulldogs aren’t the short squaty dogs, they’re more like a short mastiff.
I can feel your dog’s shame. JUst look at his face. Some acts you can’t undo.
You should have at least given him a choice: Castration or the fake reindeer antlers?

We have 12x18 for our German Wirehaired Pointers. My guess would be they would do ok with the 10x15. I would recommend looking into the Solo Automatic Opening Door. The dogs wear a magnet on their collar and a plastic door opens and closes when they approach. It is far superior to the flap. The flaps tend to break. The flaps also allow cold or heat in, these do not.

They seem expensive initially but I think they’re well worth the extra cost. You don’t need to use their magnets. Any magnet will do.

yup, 10x15 will work-we have that size on a door. That’s the flp kind. 12x18 is a little more comfortable though. If you go with the smaller one be sure to raise it up a little.

Mine is a flip kind and it does kind of suck. It lets in lots of heat/cold and dirt when we have dust storms.
