A friend of mine just got her car stolen, not sure what type of car. The kicker is her bike was in there. Aparently she always leaves it int here. that is just where she keeps it. We live in a college town so people walking around at all hours of the night is normal. I told her the club didnt work. The only time my bike is in my car is overnight before a race and i dont put it in till last minute. Anybody else leave their bike int he car?
I probably leave mine in the car way too much. Either no, I live and work in suburban areas, I don’t think it matters too much, we’re all at risk anywhere, anytime. A buddy of mine went with his girlfried to get pizza the other night, came out and the front window was busted took his palm pilot. I went to the gym last night after my ride to shower and some guy had his Cannondale on a top bike rack - with no lock???..talk about taking a risk. Sometimes I just get lazy about taking it out when I get home, or if I’m riding multiple days, I’ll just leave in - I rarely bike from home.
I never leave anything in my car, but then again I live in Chicago where I once had two games of Trivial Pursuit stolen from my car. Really, who breaks into a car to take board games?
My car has been stolen once already. Got it back with minimal damage. But no way would I leave the bike in there over night. In the few races that I travelled to, I took the bike into the hotel room with me for the evening. The loaded it back up again in the morning. The only time I didn’t was when we travelled to Peterborough last year for the 1/2 IM, and we were camping. Bike stayed in the car. Was not too worried there bcause there were a lot of other athletes camping in the park with much nicer bikes than me. Felt pretty safe there.
