"I knew he was on Leno, but didn’t watch it. I heard he was on ESPN last week, didn’t watch it. I read of yesterday’s town hall meeting, didn’t watch that either. I heard he attended the Medal of Honor Day ceremony, but saw no footage. I did watch today’s briefing on Afghanistan; I suspect most people caught only one (if any) of those events. So I’m not sure I’m buying into the media-induced overexposure charges quite yet. "
You’ve kind of demonstrated my point. If he was only on TV once, I bet more people would have thought it was important to watch. Since he’s on everyday, it’s easy to blow his appearances off as unimportant.
by the time the State of Union speech rolls around next year, we’ll all be so burned out that nobody will watch it or care. Although I may tune in just to watch idiot Pelosi hop up and down like a brainless jack in the box!
You’re really something. Someone affords you a redo, a chance to offer substance on a subject that seems to interest you, and all you can do is hurl the same tired accusation.
Was he trying to be a rock star today as well, laying out his plan for Afghanistan?
Needy troll.
Oh boo fucking hoo. You don’t like my opinion, I am going to not be able to sleep tonight.
I believe O is nothing but an empty suit. I believe he is basking in the glow of all the media attention and the sight of a TV camera gives him a boner.
If you read through all the other posts on these threads, you will find that there are many here that agree that he is over-exposed.
So get over yourself and try to allow others to have an opinion that you don’t agree with.

And if you could form a coherent thought, you’d realize that the two are completely unrelated ideas. I’m not arguing that people have no reason to think he’s overexposed, I just happen to disagree with that conclusion, at this point in time.

I see you don’t read very well either. And frankly, I don’t care whether or not you think the president addressed us today on the Pakistan/Afghanistan problem, or hosted a town-hall meeting, because it “gives him a boner;” the fact that you won’t address the substance of those press events, but rather continue tossing schoolyard insults, says all that need be about your level of maturity and the value you add to, or subtract from, the forum.
But hey, at least I can cut down on the time I spend reading here by one poster. That’s worth something of value, I guess.

Couldn’t agree more Gary. If people want to recycle elementary school insults on the internets, more power to them.

I would guess that people interested in what he has to say on the war in Afghanistan would be likely to tune in when he makes a major announcement on the war in Afghanistan, even if they did see him sit down with Leno five days prior. Same for the economy, the budget, or any other major topic with policy implications; people will tune in to hear him speak on the subjects that interest them. I hear what you’re saying though, with regard to Obama fatigue, but I don’t think his brand is in jeopardy quite yet. As I said before, should he start appearing as a celebrity judge or guest on prime-time programming as a matter of habit, yeah, he’ll have a problem on his hands. His handlers are proven media-savvy characters though, so I wouldn’t expect to see them lose too much ground here.

We’ll see. That’s not that far from doing Leno and Sportscenter in the same week.

Maybe.
I am always shocked when I see those TV viewing numbers and have a bit of a disconnect because NO ONE that I know watches anything near that level of TV in a week. Ours get’s turned a few times each week - to watch the evening news or some sports on the weekend - maybe 2 - 3 hours for everyone in the house-hold for the whole week - but whole weeks will go by with no TV. But the stats say the average person watch 2 -3 hrs or more of TV a day - again, who are these people? Who has the time for that?

Depends on how the word “watch” is defined. My TV is on pretty much non-stop from when I wake up until I go to sleep. Most of that time, I’m not really just sitting there watching, but it’s on in the background.
Did President Bush really need to have an aircraft carrier wait off the coast of San Diego, after a very long tour for the crew, so that he could then be seen to be landing in a taxpayer funded jet, so that we could see how manly he was on TV?

I’m sorry, but that has what, exactly, to do with this thread?
