Does Boston have a chance?

According to my eyes, Lakers defense has been very effective against Boston tonight. There have been way too many turnovers and Kobe is being allowed to attack the post as much as he wants.

I got excited when Boston brought out Nate Robinson in the first half, but I guess he is still a child. What is Boston going to have to do to win it?

Does Boston have a chance?

Seeing as how the Celtics have won 9 out of 11 championship match ups, I am going to say yes, they have a chance.

As a Laker fan since the Kareem-Magic days I am also going to say DIE CELTICS DIE!!!

Remember, Phil Jackson has NEVER lost a series when his team wins the first game.

As long as the Lakers’ defense shows up I think they win. But that is a really big “if” this season.

Absolutely they have a chance. That was not the “real” Celtics who played last night. LA did a great job with their defense to take the Celtics out of their game. Also, the Celtic defense was crap. They’ll make adjustments and will be very competitive throughout the series. I think the Lakers have an edge based on quality of players, so the Celtics are going to have to play out of this world basketball to pull it off. I’m going with my heart - Celtics in 7.

What is Boston going to have to do to win it?

Continue to play like they did in Game 2.

I Rondo.

I Rondo.

I don’t Rondo, exactly, but he makes everyone else in the court look like they’re running through molasses. He had some huge offensive rebounds where he rebounded and scored before the Lakers even knew the first shot had been missed.

Sure they have a chance, since the refs gave them the game last night.

Agreed. Now if he could only make some of his free throws, he’d be perfect. I had a better free throw percentage in high school than he does!!

Sure they have a chance, since the refs gave them the game last night.

Yeah right, I’m sure the refs were fully responsible for Ray Allen’s eight 3-pointers and Rondo’s triple-double.

Boston beat them in rebounds-both offensive and defensive.

Lakers had more turnovers.

Celtics had 11 fast break points versus 4 for LA.

Points in the paint, yep, Celtics 36, LA 26.

Personal fouls were dead even 29 to 29–so much for lopsided calls.

Kobe sucked with 5 turnovers, he got ripped play after play and barely broke 20 points–he also loafed on defense, like always.

Finally the Lakers shot an abysmal 5-22 for three pointers–keep shooting Artest, we like your 6 point contribution and 1 for 10 field goals.

Did Odom play, or, was he off at the candy store?

Sure they have a chance, since the refs gave them the game last night.

That’s a silly statement and I think you know it. The reffing has been very inconsistent on both sides, but I don’t think it was a contributing factor at all. Or, are you all teary eyed because Kobe got 5 fouls called on him?!

they (refs) were responsible for calling Kobe on a charge to give him his 5th foul when he obviously did not lower his shoulder. And come on, how much more clear did it need to be that Gosol DID NOT tip that ball out of bounds after having a chance to review it on istant replay with 2:00 left in the game? Officiating sucked last night and was lopsided against the lakers. Ray Allen will not repeat that night, that was a fluke. Fisher does need to step up and start shooting too. I’m not saying the Lakers didn’t play sloppy ball, just that the refs sure didn’t make the calls they should have and just about every bad call they made was against the lakers.

The charge against Kobe was definitely correct.

The Gasol call with the out of bounds was a blown call. I can’t believe they didn’t see it on the replay - it was very clear from most of the angles the TV showed the replay.

I can’t understand the officiating in this match-up. It’s almost like they want to try to control the physicality of the game by calling lots of fouls, but I’m finding that their calls are very inconsistent. I will always admit when a blown call was made no matter who it was made against, but if you seriously think that every bad call was against the Lakers, then you are delusional. Take a look at the calls against the big guys for the Celtics (except for Garnett’s fouls since I think most of his were stupid and legitimate fouls).

Dude, anyone that makes up a nickname for themselves called “The Black Mamba” doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt on calls.

He gave himself that name, yet, nobody calls him by it…what a tool!!

LOL!!!

I predict Celtics by 1 in OT.

And of course, that Kobe will really suck.

Hate to say it but I told you so. Ray Allen was ice cold and didn’t make even ONE field goal. Fisher stepped up and played the fourth Q like a vetran, sealing for LA.

Lakers in 6 at most.

I predict Celtics by 1 in OT.

And of course, that Kobe will really suck.

How’d that go for you tonight?

I don’t know why people are on the Boston bandwagon. Lakers didn’t play well tonight, but I don’t think there’s any stopping them. To me, it seems so clear…I dunno…

**I don’t know why people are on the Boston bandwagon. **

Boy, no kidding.

Lakers didn’t play well tonight, but I don’t think there’s any stopping them.

As long as the Lakers will continue to play defense, they will win.

I predict Celtics by 1 in OT.

Ray Allen sucks.

To me, this doesn’t make any sense. If you are a Boston fan, then you are a Boston fan, no matter what. Sure, I agree they are the underdogs. Kobe is a force. Gasol has turned into a premier player. But, I’m still going to cheer for the Celtics no matter who they’re matched up against. I think they have a legitimate chance, especially if Allen and Pierce start hitting some baskets. It would have been a totally different game last night if Allen had even hit 30% from the field. He’ll turn things around on Thursday.

It was rough to watch last night, but at least Garnett finally decided to make an appearance. And, great stuff (again!) from the bench. This is a very good Celtics team. Maybe not great, but very, very good.

Didn’t watch the game last night, but had to come here to celebrate Boston’s 3-2 lead over the Lakers!!! Woo Hoo!!
