According to my eyes, Lakers defense has been very effective against Boston tonight. There have been way too many turnovers and Kobe is being allowed to attack the post as much as he wants.
I got excited when Boston brought out Nate Robinson in the first half, but I guess he is still a child. What is Boston going to have to do to win it?
Absolutely they have a chance. That was not the “real” Celtics who played last night. LA did a great job with their defense to take the Celtics out of their game. Also, the Celtic defense was crap. They’ll make adjustments and will be very competitive throughout the series. I think the Lakers have an edge based on quality of players, so the Celtics are going to have to play out of this world basketball to pull it off. I’m going with my heart - Celtics in 7.
I don’t Rondo, exactly, but he makes everyone else in the court look like they’re running through molasses. He had some huge offensive rebounds where he rebounded and scored before the Lakers even knew the first shot had been missed.
Sure they have a chance, since the refs gave them the game last night.
That’s a silly statement and I think you know it. The reffing has been very inconsistent on both sides, but I don’t think it was a contributing factor at all. Or, are you all teary eyed because Kobe got 5 fouls called on him?!
they (refs) were responsible for calling Kobe on a charge to give him his 5th foul when he obviously did not lower his shoulder. And come on, how much more clear did it need to be that Gosol DID NOT tip that ball out of bounds after having a chance to review it on istant replay with 2:00 left in the game? Officiating sucked last night and was lopsided against the lakers. Ray Allen will not repeat that night, that was a fluke. Fisher does need to step up and start shooting too. I’m not saying the Lakers didn’t play sloppy ball, just that the refs sure didn’t make the calls they should have and just about every bad call they made was against the lakers.
The Gasol call with the out of bounds was a blown call. I can’t believe they didn’t see it on the replay - it was very clear from most of the angles the TV showed the replay.
I can’t understand the officiating in this match-up. It’s almost like they want to try to control the physicality of the game by calling lots of fouls, but I’m finding that their calls are very inconsistent. I will always admit when a blown call was made no matter who it was made against, but if you seriously think that every bad call was against the Lakers, then you are delusional. Take a look at the calls against the big guys for the Celtics (except for Garnett’s fouls since I think most of his were stupid and legitimate fouls).

Hate to say it but I told you so. Ray Allen was ice cold and didn’t make even ONE field goal. Fisher stepped up and played the fourth Q like a vetran, sealing for LA.
I don’t know why people are on the Boston bandwagon. Lakers didn’t play well tonight, but I don’t think there’s any stopping them. To me, it seems so clear…I dunno…

To me, this doesn’t make any sense. If you are a Boston fan, then you are a Boston fan, no matter what. Sure, I agree they are the underdogs. Kobe is a force. Gasol has turned into a premier player. But, I’m still going to cheer for the Celtics no matter who they’re matched up against. I think they have a legitimate chance, especially if Allen and Pierce start hitting some baskets. It would have been a totally different game last night if Allen had even hit 30% from the field. He’ll turn things around on Thursday.
It was rough to watch last night, but at least Garnett finally decided to make an appearance. And, great stuff (again!) from the bench. This is a very good Celtics team. Maybe not great, but very, very good.
