I don’t know what anyone else thinks but this guy is annoying. Always the first to ridicule and criticize. I think this guy posts more than anyone else on this forum and after reading some of his posts I’m not sure what the heck he said. His posts are always monotonous and lengthy not to mention wordy and he rehashes the same ole crap over and over and over. His posts are like the movie “Groundhog Day.” He says he works full-time and is a father and trains 1.5 hours a day but everywhere I go on this forum I see “Triple Threat.” Are you really a triathlete because it seems to me the only training you do is typing on your computer keyboard. A few weeks ago I used to enjoy this forum but now I’m getting sick of it because it is filled with insults and Triple Threat’s expert opinions on everything not to mention his stupid quotes and proverbs at the end of each of his dissertations. I think I’ll take other’s advice and visit www.coachgordo.com for awhile.
The only thing that bothers me is that his posts are always so damn long, which is the reason I usually skip/skim his posts.
Yep.
I can’t stand the dude myself.
Seriously, when you say “first to ridicule and criticize” are you sure that’s just not an interpretation? I read some people’s post and think “Man, what’s up their arse”, but then I figure it’s just the way I am reading their posts.
I jumped all over you one day, aqpologized publically, and privately.
I’m everything I say I am. All of it’s easy to check, if someone wanted to do the research.
Regardless of what I think of TripleThreat’s posts, I feel your post is inappropriate at best. Use the scroll bar and skip past them.
Brett
I used to think his posts were annoying, but since I started to skip them and all posts related to his posts, then I don’t think he’s annoying anymore ![]()
Seriously, it’s just not a problem of skipping a channel on tv… it’s like any other channel on tv was showing the same program… annoying.
Paulo
Yep…I think I public flogging is in order…ooops…thats what you are doing…
I haven’t noticed that his/her posts are particularly annoying.
I am the king the of long-winded posts. I’m surprised anyone reads my stuff.
Truthfully, there isn’t anyone on this forum I find particularly annoying. Different perspectives, but not annoying or insulting. There seems to be some value in almost all of it.
I’m surprised anyone reads my stuff.
What makes you think anyone reads…oops.
Ken Lehner
“I haven’t noticed that his/her posts are particularly annoying.”
If you haven’t found out if it’s a guy or a girl, you haven’t been reading much, THAT is why you don’t find him annoying ![]()
.
Probably no worse than some of my posts. I’ve got to make more of an effort and refrain from participating in the political/off topic posts. In future I’ll just stick to the tri related ones. Had too much time on my hands lately I guess.
I don’t think he’s annoying. In fact, I know I’ve read quite a few of his posts that actually made me laugh out loud.
So keep on keeping on, TT. And for those that don’t like reading his posts, the scrollbar/mousewheel should work wonderfully.
Actually, his are the only posts I like.
Tell Gordo I said, “Hey”. Off ya go.

I posted before between classes, now I’ll explain on a lunch/planing period (is that believable?)
- I post way too long. I know this. It must stop. 2. I post too often. Over-enthusiatic, over-zealous. I know this. I posted #1 and #2 the other day. Posting was something I did 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there and turned into something I did “every 5 minutes”. It happened, time to correct it.
I made my own bed here by jumping right in like I was at the top of the pecking order instead of at the bottom. That’s my fault and I’ll take all the shit, and flogging you can dish out. Taking shit is no big deal, if ya got it coming, you got it coming. Bring it on. Throw em if ya got em.
I am a very hyper person that sleeps 4-5 hours a night. My fmaily goes to bed about 9pm, and that’s when i do all my “work”. I train afterschool from 3pm to 5pm, or I’ll swim from 3-4, pick up my son, and go night running after they’ve all gotten into bed. I do everything fast (as my typos can attest) and I do a ton in one day … one reason why I have NO TIME to listen to excuses. If people have a problem with that, that’s them, not me.
I realize I don’t have to respond to every thread/post that I read. That’s what I’ve done in the past 4-5 weeks here, and it’s not necessary. Correction being made.
I assume so but have never been able to read a complete post before falling asleep.
You’ve got to be kidding, right?
I was thinking that he’s brought a breath of fresh air to a forum that has teetered on becoming the personal blog site of a few folks that seem to have little to no interest in multisport.
Keep it coming, Triple.
triple threat, i don’t think you’re annoying. i really hope you won’t be leaving the forum. however, some of the others who’ve posted have made some valid points. if i may be so bold, i’d like to make a few suggestions:
-keep your posts shorter… but you already know this, so there’s no need to beat a dead horse
-when you post, your points, which are often good ones, get obscured by your tone. as far as i can tell, Tom Demerly is an expert, Slowman is an expert, even Mr. Tibbs is an expert (his expertise being humor), but Triple Threat is not an expert. as a newbie, and a relative newcomer to this forum, perhaps you should be more deferential when you opine.
who cares about how often you post? post as much as you’d like! and keep asking questions, because that results in answers from the experts, and we all benefit from that.
however, the know-it-all attitude, coupled with the length of your posts, can be a bit exasperating.
most importantly, don’t let these detractors drive you away. that’d be freakin weak, and against the spirit of the forum as i understand it.
What I find annoying is a personal attack on somoeone out of the blue, for no cause, and to no purpose.
Offhand, I can’t think of a single post by TripleThreat that I’ve agreed with. I also can’t think of a single post of his that annoyed me or caused me any grief. If it had, I would have responded to it and the issues I found annoying therein, or skipped it.
It’s you. Leave TripleThreat out of it.
No, I am far from an expert, and usually try and point that out. I have repeatedly said I am in my first year of training, or I’m new to this (I figured that basically said “I’m no expert”). I know quite a bit about other sports and drugs & sports, but definately not in endurance training.
I don’t know how else to voice my opinion. I’m a straight-forward guy who was raised by a straight forward guy. I say my opinion with confidence. I don’t know how else to (any tips?). If I wasn’t sure it was “right”, it wouldn’t be my opinion (I’ve said I don’t know and have been corrected when wrong). How does one make a point, while not sounding like a know-it-all or being wishy-washy flip-flop?
I ain’t going anywhere. This thread reminds me grade school when a kid would yell things from behind his screen door or from across the street. This thread is not surprising. Some of it I have coming.
QR, you’re entitled to your opinion and, since this is a public forum, you’re certainly welcome to post anything you like. After I read your post and many other’s responses I actually went back to see what kind of tone you usually post with and couldn’t find anything to beat you with. Good on you!
However, might it have been a better course of action to send TT a private message and say something like, “Hey, I don’t know if you know this but you come across as somewhat of a wacko and no one is listening to what you have to say because of the way you say it?”
I find it ironic that you would complain about someone’s insluting tone by publicly taking him to the woodshed and insulting him in the process.
Just my 2 cents worth…
