Just speculating here, but wouldn’t an ideal bike shoe have no padding to maximize the force to the pedals? Of course that might not be too comfortable on a long ride unless perhaps it was form-fitted…

the Bonts are not narrow, i’d say theyre average. The Pearl Izumi Tri Fly Octane shoes (the orange ones) are super super light, stiff, low stack and narrow. I love everything about them except they’re just too narrow for my feet. Lighter than Bont, S-works, anything (and i’ve owned them all.)
