Does anybody have the Vision Drinkmore?

Does anybody use this thing? Does it eject bottles?

Anyone?

I’ve had it for two years and love it. Never had it eject a bottle and that includes the lame gatoraide bottles they give you on the course. You’ll love it and not having to deal with that irritating straw and sponges of those “aero” bacteria factories is priceless. My guarantee is you’ll love it or I’ll refund 100% of what it cost you for my advice!

I’ve been googling trying to find this product… perfect thread timing.

Looks like it attaches with simple zip ties?
I assume you have to have aero extensions that are fairly close together…?

I just ordered one online, for the same reasons as SpencerDC mentioned, in addition to the splash issue. If you’re gonna order one, I recommend doing it sooner than later, as Vision has discontinued production of these, and I had a bit of a problem trying to find one. I plan to test it out myself over the coming week. If it works even half as well as I expect, I would recommend one of the many tri-bitz companies to reintroduce this.

I don’t get it. From the few pictures I can see online, it simply looks to be an aerobar-mounted bottle cage. Is there more to it than that?

Yes and no it doesn’t eject bottles. Actually, I’m not using the Vision branded cage…rather, I realized I already had a cage that would fit perfectly. 2 zip ties was all it took! I’ll snap a few pics tonight if anyone is interested, as I’m sure there are other cages that will function similarly at a fraction of the cost.

Yeah the aero extension width is the only caveat here …can’t be too wide or too narrow.

Let’s see it. I think I’m going to do the same…

If I have to drill holes in a cage… then so be it.

any feedback on hand position or is that relative to the width of the handlebars from the pics looks like it may rub the hands ? also
how does it stay in place without moving forward or backward ?

Hand position isn’t an issue. I have the same setup shown and the elbow pads are on the narrowest setting w/o any problem. As for movement, it holds it firmly just like the one on your frame. Plus you have the elbow pads behind it. Never moves at all. As for making your own, I’m sure there are other bottle cage systems that would work fine. Nothing terribly complex about it. Don’t worry about how wide or narrow your bars are either. There it works for virtually any width. It will just sit higher or lower.

Thanks for posting that, I am ordering one up.

That is true, but you certainly can’t have your bars too wide or the whole deal will sort of be suspended in mid air (ie. cage not touching the extensions). You’re right though, if it’s narrower, then the bottle will sit higher. I have mine so that the centerline of the bottle is just above the extensions…so compared to that picture it’s sitting low.

Good point, too wide wouldn’t work but as we are all elitist ST’ers it couldn’t possibly be a problem here:-)
.

LOL, so true.

For that matter, I’m using ski bends. GASP Wonder how well it sits with straight / s / r / h / j or whatever those “cool” extensions are called.
Anyone?

Hate to say it, but mine was a bottle launcher extraordinair. Never found one that would stay in.

This bottle holder looks more difficult to drink from than the Profile Aerodrink. Are you able to drink without sitting upright?

$16.95 at Bike Wagon, I just picked one up myself.
Here is the link

Unless you able to rig up some sort of tubing with a one way valve so it doesnt spill all over the place: No. I got it as some sort of closeout deal, for 10 bucks. It looks cool, but wasnt worth it. Besides, with some races being so crowded, anything that takes my hands of the bars, isnt that great. I know people think they are dorky, but, I still think the Camelbak is king for long rides and races.

I just got off the phone with FSA as we had a few here and sold them like wildfire as soon as I got back from Cervelo Brain Bike. I was trying to find more. The product is extinct at the manufacturer/U.S. distributor level although there may be some closeouts left here and there.

It is pretty easy to rig something like this though, so all is not 100% lost. Also, as a couple posters have mentioned, there are some retailers that still have them in stock. Google will be you best friend here…

Couldn’t disagree more. I don’t need to come out of my bars to drink. We’re not talking about a difficult bike manouver here. it’s right next to your hands…take it out, tilt it back, drink and snap it back in. I found I was out of my position more filling up an aero system on the front than drinking from the bottle on front…OK, I’m feeling a bit like Frank Day now and, not only do I have no vested interest but they don’t even make it anymore so do whatever flips your skirt, but for the record it’s by far my favorite system and I’ve used both.
