Does anyone buys these guys presents? Last year I put a 12 pack on top of my trash can the friday before christmas, but odds are the neighbor kids probably drank it.
Just Curious

My wife makes bread for the postman. Some times he has to get out of the truck to drop off packages. The Paperlady, just drives down the street, heck when its raining its to much trouble to put the paper in the paperbox thats at the street. Nothing for the garbage man either, but we have different ones almost every week.
usually $20 to everyone whos a regular.
no
.
We’ve given to our UPS guy before. Our Mail carrier changes often so no on that one.
If I was single I’m make the effort to give it to the M-Th mail carrier. She is about 30 and hot, really hot. I’m surprised the jonnyo hasn’t swooped in on her with all the time he spendsd here. What a loser!
Nothing from me.
brian, when i m at your place, i do thw stuff that is suppose to make me fast…it s call training!!! so i never saw that mail girl…i guess i m gona need some day off next time i m in laveen
No, but I do drop off a box of good chocolates at the bike shops that took good care of me over the past year. This, and an occasional 6 pack of micro-brew to the back room mechanics seem to “keep the wheels greased.”
I never see my mailman or garbage man…I might buy them a present if I knew they were the same person each day (no way to tell if they work in shifts, etc.)
.
My mailman is running a 20% mis-delivery rate this year. My paper gal never delivers my Friday WSJ, she just gives me two on Saturday (despite my repeated calls to the paper). My trash guys don’t make the effort to empty the whole can, just the easy stuff on top. Finally, I’m pretty sure my bug sprayer guy is just pumping water around my house.
Of course, I got cards from all of them in that not-so-subtle ‘tip me’ way. So, here’s their tip: Never pet a burning dog.
Screw 'em, give 'em a dollar…
Anyone who doesn’t know that joke I’ll be happy to recount it. It just might be old enough that some of the kids here don’t know it.

I’m young. Spill!
So it’s late and this very tired mailman rings the door to deliver Christmas packages. An extremely attractive blonde opens the door wearing the flimsiest Fredericks of Hollywood nighty…
“It’s awfully cold outside,” she coos, “won’t you come in…?”
Long story short, he wakes up in her bed the next morning to the distinctive smells of breakfast cooking. Moments later, the lovely lady brings in a tray with pancakes, juice and a ham and cheese omelet. The mailman is incredulous. Without question, this is the best day of his life. Then he looks down and sees a dollar bill on the breakfast tray…
“Ma’am,” he says, “this is the most incredible thing that’s happened to me in fifteen years of delivering the mail. I don’t know what to say. But if you don’t mind, why is there a dollor bill on the breakfast tray?”
She smiled and replied, “Well, you know it is Christmas, and I just never know what to do for all the people who provide such wonderful services for us all year. I got the gardner a really nice Goretex jacket because he does our yard even when it’s raining and awful out. I bought the garbagemen some really nice leather work gloves and I got the paper boy some really nice clip-on fenders for his bike. But I just didn’t know what to get you, so I asked my husband. He said 'Screw 'im, give him a dollar!”
And with a proud smile she added: “Breakfast was my idea!!”
I hope tigerchik isn’t blonde…
If you know your postman/woman who comes regularly - not the substitutes for vacation or sick days, yes, it is a nice gesture especially if they are doing a good job. The same goes for the UPS and FedEx person on your route usually.
We’ve actually brought a big box of goodies to our local post office because we ship lots of stuff every day, and they greet us by our first names and give great service.
Sarah is baking cookies for our home mail man. We will give a gift to our Fedex delivery man, Rick, becasue he does an exemplary job.

You know the rule. Either you train or you pay rent for that day. You choose.
“I hope tigerchik isn’t blonde…”
If she is, I’ll go by there dressed as a letter carrier!
ok it’s my first drink of the season tonight, and I will add my 02 cents as a Fedex delivery guy. In Napa I get tons of wine thrown at me during the holidays, I appreciate all my regular stops and return genuinely consistent excellent service through the year. It is the stops that are infrequent that give me cards or other tokens during this time that will get my attention the next 11 months. I understand that you may not know me personally yet, but a personal connection will go a long ways and is well recepted and will go a long ways as we do communicate with the service providers
