Do I need to change my tubulars?

I have Vittoria Open corsa CX tubulars on a pair of 404s. They have not been used for 2 years (no racing). They were stored in my garage in wheel bags.

Do I need to have them reglued or should I jsut change them or just ride?

Thanks

When deflated, if you can peel up the corner of the tire from the rim, or if the glue is cracking when peeling up on the tire, then it may be time for a new coat of glue.

In addition to what Gary said, check the tire casing for cracks.

If you think you do…you do!

After reading Jonnyo’s race report, I might ditch my tubulars and get a “high quality clincher with a latex tube”!!

Exactly. Is it really worth an hour of so of total time and $150 bucks or so to risk having a tire problem while cornering at 30+mph?

If you are worried about it change your tires, or at least reglue them. Two years is a pretty long time for tires to sit with no use. You might be fine. You might not…is it worth the risk?

Not worth it. That’s what I was thinking but given that each tire has only about 300 miles on it I thought I would get second opinions.
