Do hubs or wheels need time to break in?

The rear wheel of my new wheelset seems to be sticky. When I spin it off the ground it rotates for about 1/10th the amount of time my older rear wheel does.

They are the ubiquitous shimano r500s. Both the front and rear wheel as slower than my other wheelset.

Do hubs need some time on the road to loosen up or break in? If so, how long?

Thanks

The rubber seals will loosen up just a bit as time goes by. Those wheel I am pretty sure have double seals and trust me, that is better than no seals - drag or no drag.

bump, please help
.

What more info do you need? Yes, the seals can be a bit tight at first…and the pawls a tiny tiny bit stiffer. What are you so worried about?

yes they will loosen. I have a set on my training-road bike. I was concerned about this as well initially.
