In preparation for next weekend’s race, I’ve tried using clear packing tape to attach a LG windscreen to my Spiuk Kronos helmet. I’m pretty pleased with the results, but am wondering if it will fly with the race directors. I’ve heard of people prevented from racing with a helmet without the CPSC sticker, but have any of you ever gotten any grief from race officials for doing some DIY mods to a helmet that is certified?
Many are allowed to use them in many races, but it wouldn’t surprise me if an individual RD or Ref said no. Be prepared to take it off or have a second helmet just in case.
