Disturbing Locker Room Behavior, Part II

In light of R10C’s thread a few weeks back, I saw something today at my local Y that wasn’t as nasty as the older gentleman who took the Pepsi Challenge with his own poopy diaper, but merits an honorable mention. I finish my swim and head in to the locker room to grab a quick shower, only to see a guy in the shower shaving his pubes. WTF?!?!?!? If he’s going to do that, do that at home.

My crap-ass gym has a sign above the baterial sespool (hot tub) that says shaving is not allowed in the hot tub. No mention of the showers though.

You guys need to stop looking around and just stare at the ground. Thats my trick.

Why do you guys take showers? You getting out of the pool you are sanitized. Why shower when you can sanitize?

EDIT: that being said I just remember the guy this week that layed his junk on the counter while shaving his face. Just what I want to see when washing my hands, some dude with his wanker and boys hanging out by the pool (sink). seriously people, I say we start a public awareness campaign to stamp out bad locker room behavior.

You mean public manscaping?

Two comments:

absolutely, your clean after the pool…unless you need to wash hair, and possibly the bits and pieces; secondly, I commented on that on Vol. I. What is up with that. Worst of all I saw was a really heiry guy, pubeless…who was he trying to kid. What I learned, however, from this post, is that they use a blade…gotta be careful…one slip and…“hey Lance, me too!”

I shower after pool swims to get that nasty brittle feeling off my skin; and the terrible smell of chlorine. I usually continue my day without showering after swimming in the lake.

Agreed, there needs to be a campaign for locker room etiquette but whos going to enforce it? I try not to talk to anyone, not a freak I jsut don’t like talking to naked men who I don’t know, I just respond with one word answers until they catch the hint. Usually as I’m walking away and say bye. I don’t even like talking to my friends in the locker room. Its just weird. maybe I’m the wierd one.

one, to wash my hair before the chlorine turns the pretty blonde into green
two, because showering gets at least a little of the chlorine odor off
three, because chlorine drying on skin equals itchy skin
four, because the shower is HOT! and the pool is COLD!

I’m with you. After swimming I dry off, get dressed, and go. No reason to shower. I shower at home later after I complete all my workouts for the day.

One word: lotion

The only time I shower after swimming is when, like tigerchik, I’m cold after the swim & need to get warm.

I forgot to mention the mandatory use of lotion…on my skin you sicko’s…helps with the chlorine smell, the itch’s, etc

And I’m not so sure my pool is properly maintained. Not that a bar of soap is going to fix that.

I normally follow this rule, but a few weeks back at The Y I had finished my swim and shower and was getting dressed when I heard someone using the blow dryer. I looked up and the guy who was swimming in the lane next 2 me had come out of the shower and was using the Y blow dryer to blow dry his ass hair dry.

dear tigerchik, between this post and your bike post, I am going to start an intervetion (btw you did get a black bike right?) here is why;

one, to wash my hair before the chlorine turns the pretty blonde into green - dudes dig girls who are not afraid to let their wild side show. Besides marrying a real redhaed, i’ve dated a number of women with multicolored hair. I found them to be much more entertaining then the some of the other chicks on campus that I dated. Most of the multicolored hair chicks also liked metal music which is a big +.
two, because showering gets at least a little of the chlorine odor off - what ever you are in maine. No one can smell chlorine under 6 sweaters and three thick coats, so no worries there.
three, because chlorine drying on skin equals itchy skin - hmm in the summer i agree, in the winter no itchy skin so no worries.
four, because the shower is HOT! and the pool is COLD! - pffft shivering burns calories. less body weight makes running easier. plus sitting in class bundled up shivering is a great conversation starter. Who knows what dudes you can meet?!?!?!

Silver bike!

Colored hair would get hidden under my seven hats!

beanies are cool! silver bikes…well 1 out of 2 isn’t bad!

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned but it sure freaked me out. I live in Houston and run early mornings on the way to work at Memorial Park. Theres a locker room that opens at 6:00AM and a lot of us shower, get dressed and head off to work. Its an large open shower area, no stalls.
Anyway, I’m showering away last week and a guy starts showering next to me and hes in an aroused state. A really, really aroused state. Seems like he would have waited until that feeling would have passed but apparently not. Quickest shower I ever had.
Next day, same thing. He’s back and everythings the same.
Maybe I’m going to start showering at work. This I assure you is not the norm in Houston.

Does he play a fiddle?

Dude, that is soooo wrong. I run at the park at lunch time.

What wrong about shaving at the gym? I do all the time, all the way up too. I don’t care who sees me. I’m secure with my manhood.

Let him know that after 4 hours he is supposed to seek medical advice

Go jump in the pool after the run, then you can skip the shower.
