Dissolving Endurolytes in water or Gatorade?

Does anyone do this? I’m thinking I’d rather do this than carry the damn things in my Saltstick dispenser or a coin purse.

I’ve done it. Can’t put as much in without it getting pretty nasty tasting but adding 2-4 isn’t too bad. If you end up doing it regularly they also have the stuff in powder form.

Buy the Endurolyte powder from Hammer. It is made specifically for this and is very inexpensive. Works like a charm…just add what you need according to the days temperature/event/etc. I use it religiously and mix it in with HEED. If you haven’t ordered from Hammer before, use my customer # (68848) and get 25% off your first order.

Thanks. It’s a little too late to order before my race next week at Lubbock but I will look for it at the expo.

Endurolytes have so few electrolytes as to be meaningless, unless you take, say, 20 per hour.

Question. I find that Heed tastes sickly-sweet in hot weather. Does adding some Endurolyte powder actually make it taste better (less sweet)? If so, that might be the ticket. Just wondering. (Otherwise I’m back to Infinit, which is great but is more expensive.)

The normal Gatorade has an osmolality of 385, very high already. The endurance is right at 300. If you start adding more electrolyte to the drink it will get too high unless you dilute. If you dilute then you will not get enough calories. Its a bit like chasing your tail. You can do it, but not sure you will end up where you want.

Its not generally recomended to use salt pills (and gels) and sports drink together. Recipe for gut distress.

I’ve tried adding Endrolyte powder to Perpetium…at IMAZ in 06 when it was hot hot hot…didn’t help the flavor once the mix got warm. And the amount you have to add is prohibitive, in my opinion.

Get a better electrolyte tab like Saltstick or Succeed. There’s just not enough sodium in Endurolytes to have much of an effect.

or just go InfinIt…

any decent tri/run shop should have powder
