All I want is an app that will manage all my streaming services and consolidate them into one common interface.
Yes, I realize I just reinvented cable TV.

HA! I had heard, sometime in the last year, that there was talk of the major sports channels (ESPN, NFL, Fox and I believe NBC) were talking about consolidating into a single source for sports and bringing others alongā¦..Iād be in for that depending on the price and that it was the same or cheaper than what Iām paying now. Or even a hair higher if I got access to others like MLS that I refuse to pay for now, mainly because the Fire have been god aweful.
Roku attempted this initially, as a 3rd option after Amazon and Google. And Apple to an extent.
Lots of $ to be made hosting the toll road to serve ads to paying customers, and in payment processing.
Lots of money to be made by throwing your muscle around then raising prices. cough Disney.
Regulators never shouldāve allowed Disney to buy ESPN or ABC, nor should they have been allowed to gain full ownership of Hulu. I think the latter was originally split between NBC, Fox and someone else. Then Disney bought in. Then Disney pushed to buy out the rest.
I agree. Hulu has changed ownership many times since the launch around 2007/8.
And now WB is up for sale, and the new Paramount has stated interest.
Also, tangent. As a tax paying fan, it is disappointing owners are able to shake down communities to fund the stadiums, enforce media blackouts, and move games from public OTA broadcast to behind cable or streaming.
I was thinking the same thing about Disney and Hulu. Frustrating as hell. Wonder how long this blackout will last.
My blackout is over as I moved to Hulu Live. It took a few days but Iām actually pretty happy with it. The UI takes some getting use to, but it gets betterā¦. Glad to be done with YT TV.
The think I like about the streaming services is it is easy to change your mind and swap between them. This was not possible with traditional cable.
Itās weird, but sometimes I miss commercials. Same thing with listening to music. Sometimes I just want a break in between.
