I was just curious, I was wondering what peoples opinions of the race were. I did it last year and quite a few people were a little irritated about the overall organization. I liked the race last year a lot and will be back next year, but I was wondering what peoples opinions about how it was organized. Also for people who did both years: How was the run different from last year? Better? worse? or just different?

I did Disney 1/2 both years and I would say this years race was marginally better. Improvments included:

Better Run Course. Not on the golf course w/ about 1/3 of the race on grass or trails.

Better supply of pizza for the post race feed.

Transitions were slightly better with more and wider mats on the sand.

The lake seemed cleaner this year and the vegatation was not as grown as last year so there was less of the bottum vegetation reaching to the surface.
Overall, the volunteers and race support continued to be good. You can tell that the race is not an official “Disney” event, by the lack interface between disney and IMNA (compared to the Disney Marathon). Opinions will vary wether this is good or bad.
On the down side year over year the only thing that got worse was the complete lack of USAT draft marshalls on the bike. (See other threads for the details).
