Hi everyone, just wanted you to know that having chatted with a few of you on here I thought I would add a new discount code to our website, any of you are free to use the code “slowtwitch” (no qoutation marks, no uppercase) which will get you 20% off anything on our site www.footrx.com or use direct link into the store http://www.footrx.com/store/home.php This code can be used whenever you need, no expiration, no limit to number of times you can use it. As long as I own the site we will honor the 20% off with this code.
the code is used in the coupon code box during checkout. For those of you not familiar with us feel free to ask me more or email me directly with questions.
we have lots more apperal, shoes, etc… that is not on our website, can get anything made by asics, brooks, saucony, NB, fila, avia, mizuno, adidas, reebok, etc…
no problem Glo, we will be sure to make the adjustment before billing the card, I saw that you are in Fort Riley, I was actually born in Manhatten, grew up in Pratt Ks
.
Thanks Jamie. This will be an easier code to remember. I believe you will do very well with the “Slowtwitch” community. Especially with all the upcoming lightweight performance shoes. Just make sure they are all available in size 14!!!

Hey Jamie, thanks for the discount. It’s pretty sweet. I have a question, I have low arches, what kind (brand and model) of running shoes would you recommend? I run mostly on pavement.
I’m currently using Brooks Glycerin 4. The store where I bought them recommended them, but somebody told me these shoes don’t have good arch support. I don’t have any foot injury and I’ve never been picky with running shoes (I never had problems with any shoe), but as I get older I want to be cautious. I weigh 160lbs, I run about 10 miles a week on pavement. I was told at the store that I don’t overpronate. (they made me run on a treadmill to check for pronation, and told me I have an even stride) Sometimes I get cramps on the bottom of my feet. (makes me wonder if it is the lack of arch support in my shoes) It’s very random and it can happen to either foot, never to both at the same time. I get them once in a while. The cramps are mild, not enough to make me stop running and they usually go away right away.
my bet would be that the “cramp” you are feeling is actually posterior tibial tendon insertional pain which is common when using a shoe that does not provide you with enoguh arch and not enough medial support. I wouldnt say you need to go to a really controlling shoe but just a mild to moderate stability shoe might help alot given your low arch instead of the more neutral glycerin. I would first try either:
asics 2120 or mizuno inspire
also consider:
avia 2052
brooks adrenaline
saucony omni moderate
fila sanctuary
adidas supernova control
nike air structure triax
NB 767
