What is the best way (type of adhesive) to mount a magnet to a disc wheel so that it is strong enough to stay on when wet and can be removed without damaging the carbon? Thanks.
Tape a small square of electrical tape to your disk.
Super Glue magnet to tape.

Get a rare earth magnet and mount it with silicone glue near the valve stem hole.

Make that the INSIDE of the valve stem hole (if your disc isn’t filled with honeycomb or something).
The rare earth magnet will be strong enough to work from inside the disc plus it won’t be exposed.
If you need it on the outside, then I think I like best the idea to superglue it to electrical tape.
get a flat, round magnet found in the bottom of every shower curtain. Two sided tape sticks well, but can be removed without damaging the disc.
Yeah, sorry, that’s what I meant. The benefit of the silicone glue is that it is waterproof and sticks really well. But it doesn’t leave a residue or tear up the surface when you take it off.
Ok, I’ll ask - why would you want to take it off?
Different computer or mount?
Try a normal screw on to spoke magnet into the foam between the carbon layers in the valve hole. Then electrical tape to keep it in place.
Or if you decide to sell the wheel. Silicone glue is just less likely to cause damage to the surface than superglue.
