I am actually a bit surprised that there haven’t been someone making aero disc rotors yet. At least it should be rather easy to take a big part of the aftermarket of triathletes and TTs. As you say, some shape must be more aerodynamic than others. My gut feeling was for the Shimano Dura Ace 140mm, but I realise it’s only because it looks faster.
When measuring something that might be less than 1 watt difference wind tunnel might not be the best tool, but I dont know anything that would be better.
Revolver make an aero rotor cover.
I’ve been thinking about getting these. Does seem interesting in theory. No way a company would design this into a bike without additional cooling, but as others have said, for the extremely low turn courses or flat courses, it may be worthwhile.
What is your guess on savings compared to this ? (which they claim saves 1 watt )
