Has anyone out there done Austria IM, and if so would you recommend using a disc?
Never done it, but it’s the fastest bike course in the circuit, so I’d definitely say a disc is a go.
Just look at those bike splits! TONS of people under 5:00!
A very prominent member of the forum alluded to the course possibly being a tad short some time back so maybe that’s the reason.
Depends on the weight of your disc and your ability to climb. I have done the race and I know that whilst the climbs are short and the descents long the climbs are nasty third time around.
Your race, your disc, your call. Good Luck and enjoy what is a great race in a beautiful setting.
No doubth - use disc, no matter the weight. The climbes are not a major part of the bike leg, and there is usally no strong winds in that area.
