Disc cover when traveling?

Just got my first disc cover. I have a soft case bike bag. Do you guys leave it on the wheel in the bag or install when at the race if you are flying with your bike? I’m not sure how brittle/ easily deformed the covers are. Don’t want to get to the race and find out it’s cracked.

I leave mine on the wheel. I pack my wheels sandwiched between a layer of foam and cardboard on each side of the wheel and pack in the bike bag with the rest of the bike. I think it’s safer on the wheel as it supports the cover.

Like Nick said, it’s best to leave it on the wheel. The easiest way to break one is the bend it too much, which is really only possible when it’s off the wheel. With that said, still be careful how you pack the wheel. Be sure there’s nothing pressing up against the cover.
