I’m starting a consulting firm and am looking for a service, company, program etc that is efficient for doing monthly direct deposits from my clients.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought about paypal subscriptions, but a 2.9% fee per transaction seems pretty steep… or maybe its standard, I have not the slightest clue.

They should be able to directly deposit, transfer, wire to your bank account for free from their bank account. Talk to your bank.
I use Quickbooks to send out my invoices and from that there is a link to the Intuit Payment Network. My customers can click that link, and after signing up, send their payments to me that way from their checking account. Payment goes into my bank account a day later. Costs me 50 cents per transaction, no minimums, no monthly fee. No credit card processing though, it’s all their bank account to mine.
