Differences in Felt frames

After noticing the sale that Tom is having, and realizing that I can’t be a part of it, I of course went to the Felt website. A couple of questions:

  • difference between the B2, the DA series, and the S22 frames

Thanks.

One thing I have to point out quickly_ the new 2005 S25 uses the same frame as the B2- with the bladed seat tube. Not the older (2004) version with the round seat tube.

We have the new 2005 version on sale at $1259.99 fitted, in store only this weekend. We have some '04’s too, but why would you want one when we have the new '05’s?

-More latter, I have to go help my girlfriend at the restaurant now.

'04 S22 frameset = '04 B2 frameset. And now, it looks like the '05 S25 = '04 S22 = '04 B2 (as far as framesets go)…right Tom?

Okay, so S22 = B2. Where does the DA fit into this equation?

And one additional question, taking out proper fit (for Tom’s sake), what are the differences between:

  • Cervelo’s P2K and the DA series? Just the rear cut out? And I’m speaking of the framesets only, not components.

As far as the DA goes, obviously it’s a step above the B2. It’s Easton 7005 aluminum and made in the USA (where the B2 and others are made in Taiwan), if that’s worth anything to you. Other differences: full aero seat tube (and post), Reynolds fork with carbon steerer tube, and it’s a smidge lighter than the B2. I could be leaving some other important characteristic out that the DA has over the B2…maybe SuperDave or Tom would chime in. I’m no expert, just sharing what I learned as I shopped Felt…

Andrew, I think I’ve got it…thanks.

B2 + S22 is about the same. DA is top of the line TT/Tri frame.

Now the last question to get answered: P2K vs DA frame.

Andrew, again, thanks a lot!

Exactly, DA is top o’ the line. As far as P2K vs. DA goes…I won’t go there… I don’t know enough about either to make a fair comparison. Good luck!

P2K vs. DA.

I’ll give it a shot. As far as aero goes, the P2K may have an ever so slight lead over the DA. The DA weighs a little less than the P2K.
As far as sexy goes, the DA has it all over the P2K.
Felt has the sexiest graphics in the biz. The DA is rare. Not very many people have one. The DA has more exotic tube shapes and materials.
The DA is pretty black. Thre DA has Jim Felt’s very special geometry. The DA is classic.

Performance wise, I’d say there is very little real difference between the P2K and the DA (heck there’s very little difference between any bike.) If it came down to it though, I’d ride the DA. P2K’s are great bikes, but the fact that they can be built up for the price of a DA frame give the DA a boost.
It’s not how fast you are, it’s how fast you look.
The DA just plain looks faster the the P2K.

Oh man, I think it’s bishop polishing time.

How about a matte black painted P2K?? :-))

My tri bike is an '04 DA and I love it. It handles like a road bike on mild steroids. Just looking at those DA’s hanging from the office wall makes me want to go home and get mine and ride it. I swear. DA’s are very sexy bikes.

Will you people please stop bothering Tom with all these inane “bike” questions… he has to go help his girlfriend at the restuarant.

Tom, can I get some extra ranch dressing for my fries?

I hear from a reputable source that Tom D is now posting on another website forum dedicated new his new interests. You can find his new postings on www.MyGirlFriendsResturant.com .

I guess he graduated from www.RestuarantNewbies.com and from www.IHateWomen.com .
