Difference between a TT and Tri bike?

This may be a stupid question but what is the difference between a TT and Tri bike? Ignore componentry, I"m talkin frames. The reason I ask is that Trek’s 05 Aero bikes are listed separately as TT and Tri bikes. From what I can tell the top end Tri bike is simply the carbon TT bike. I can’t imagine angles are any different, any thoughts?

UCI rules state for TT bikes the saddle has to be 5cm behind the bottom bracket often resulting in shallower angles than many people ride for tri’s. For example a pro cyclist may TT at a relative angle of 74-75 degrees while many tri bikes are set up around 80 degrees.

Trek lists the carbon models (TTT and Equinox 11) as a 73.8 degree seat andgle (56c), while the aluminum tri models have a 76 degree seat angle (56c).
