Of course and there is also the issue of how we are raising the meat. It’s tricky but the idea that we where not meant to eat it is fantasy land.
There is no acounting for taste that is true but the whole moral argument is thin at best.
ME TOO!! Finally someone else who’s like me!
I very much don’t like the taste of meat! Red meat especially. I do love tofu, so that works well for me!!
Hell, I enjoyed a Teriyaki Maul Bowl this evening at Wahoos! I respect that people make diet choices and stick to them despite the pressure to eat like the rest of us. Personally, I couldn’t live without burgers, meat, etc. That’s why we have incisors in our mouths!
Oh I respect it. I just don’t get it.
So I guess there isn’t anyone here that has success with a vegan raw way of eating…???
I have tried it at times but found it tuff and seem to get run down… It sounds good in theory and would love to make it work but not sure if it does…

Dan, you might find this link and article/interview interesting, http://www.triathloncoach.com/articles/fuelforlife.html; a close friend of mine and former principal dancer with Chicago Ballet, and who follows a strict+ macrobiotic diet. Exercises 4-5 hours per day Sleeps 4-5 hours per night Has never had so much as a sniffle in the 7 years that I have known him Reports not having been sick or had a cold for 18 years General persona is vibrant, engaged, and in the moment
Although I do not practice this diet, I must say that I am increasingly intrigued by the extraordinary health that my friend enjoys.
I think also that there are lessons for those who are forever pondering complex nutritional strategies and calorie counts for IM events, and where in my opinion far more problems are caused by overeating than by eating too little.
Michael
For the people who can do it, cool. I found it difficult because I was 15 and living with my parents, who weren’t willing to cook special meals for me aside from what my mom was already cooking for dinner, which is totally reasonable. Now that I’m a college student, our cafeteria has good vegan options and I could be a vegan if I so chose. I like yogurt waaay too much, however.
the hard one for me is cheese. i love me some cheese. no soy version compares to the real deal, and when training a lot i think my body craves it for the quick calorie replacement. i have to train myself to crave something else instead. it’s just artery-clogging animal fat!
oh, add me to the list of people who have never liked the taste of meat. i think i was born a vegetarian.
soy cheese is nasty, I agree. The only dairy that I miss at all is yogurt a little. I don’t like the taste of meat either, never did much.
