Did you switch from 143 to 155 on Specialized Power?

Why did you switch? How different did it feel? Were you measured for a 143?

I’m currently using the 143mm Power on my tri bike and I’m wondering how different a 155 might feel. My last road bike fit, I was put on a 155 Romin, but when I looked for the Power, two people measured me to be on the 143.

Is the width difference on the 155 only in the wings? Or does the area in front of the wings also measure wider?

Appreciate the insight!

I measured 143 on the Romin, but rode the 155 because it just felt a little more comfortable to me. And I rode it for 5 years. I now have a 143 Power, after trying both the 143 and 155.

If you measured 143 on the Power, then that’s what I recommend unless you tend to ride more upright than in the typical road or aggressive position. The wings on the Power are flatter across than on the Romin. Since you are in a Tri forum here, I assume you are in an aggressive position.

Note: I can not speak for the “Arc” model of the Power, which is a new iteration. It rolls off on the wings much like the Romin…I think. If it were me, I’d still start off on a 143 and see how you like it before going to the 155.

I originally got the 143, but I swore the 155 was more comfortable. The guy in the shop measured me for 143, but we tried both and 155 “felt better”. He said that this may have been fine looping around the parking lot at slow speed, but when I rotated my pelvis, I’d have the wings jamming into my body where it should not and I may not like it in the tri position or in the drops. He thought that if I used it on my mountain bike, commute bike, or used it on my road bike for lots of sitting up climbing then sure…but if I rotated my pelvis he felt the 143 would be a safer bet for all types of riding. I am also on a 143 on every other specialized saddle i used.
