I thought i heard something about someones disc wheel explode twice in their TT. True? Is there Pictures?, What Brand?
David Millar of the SD team. It was some sort of a mavic Comete, maybe a custom one.
Yes. David Millar. Mavic, but apparently it was an “ultralight prototype,” not a standard Comete.
Not one disc, Millar had 2 discs explode on him. His first wheel blew up about 50 meters in to the race, he switched bikes, and the same thing happened again shortly thereafter.

What a bummer, it looked like the bonding between the clincher or tubular rim and the disc seperated. It gave out right away. Junk?
Only one disc blew up. The second was just the skewer was not tight enough and twisted in the frame.
