brought my bike to local shop today to have my flat stock basebar replaced on my dual. put a syntace on their with a 80mm drop very cool love the position.
but the shop said they couldn’t route the cables internally thru the bar, because the opening for the bar near the brake is too close .
ever run into that?
Yupper…the question is - is it really a big deal? I kinda like the cable outside the bar and use it as a knuckle bend area. Or, get levers that put the cable in the bar…other levers will cost more and offer no improvement at all, and minimal weight loss.
no i guess it’s not that big a deal the main reason i bought them is for the position - but the internal cable routing just seemed like something worth trying.
which lever would put the cable in the bar?
There are quite a few, Profile and many others. I was on the DiaComp for years till I got a free pair of Profile…they always worked (the diacomp), that is all you can really ask for in a lever…and spend $70+ on a lever that is 10 grams lighter…please.
I’m looking at some cane creeks for 25 bucks on ebay. I think they might work.
A big too on the Profile lever is they are spring loaded too so no rattle. Worth the extra bucks.
