Di2 6871 compatible with 10-speed

Hi there.
I currently have a 10-speed Di2 setup on my TT - exept with my brake-levers (standard cable)
I want to switch to the new Shimano 6871-levers. These are made for 11-speed.

Does it pose any problem for me switching ti 6871??

Should not be an issue. I would call shimano us though to make sure. I just went through this with upgrading a dura ace fd. My set up is 11sp but have 6770 shifters.

You can’t mix dérailleur types, no 10 with 11 speed. You can’t use ew67 with an internal battery. Mixing 6700 and 6800 shifter types should be ok but you will need to update the firmware on all connected pieces for it to work.

Do you have 10s Ultegra or Dura-Ace Di2? If you have Ultegra it should be fine.

Note that you won’t be able to just upgrade the RD to get to 11s like you used to be able to if you have the latest firmware.

Yes, as others have commented, you need only an update to the firmware using the plug-in system checker/updater.
You will also need new 5 port junction A box which would allow an internal battery if you don’t already have it.
