Ok, I know i should be calling the company at this point but I am about to pull the trigger on the 400mile bibs and the Forza Tri-shorts but I am on the cusp of the L and the XL. 200lbs and 6’2" is my current body size. So… the Large “cut off is 195lbs and 6’2” and the XL is from 6’3"-6’5" and 215lbs… what would you do and what have others found re: Desoto and being either big to a bit small? Sorry for the lame ass post but just figured I would ask those in the know… Thanks in advance. ERIK

You know who’s in the know? De Soto. Call them. Seriously. ![]()
I would normally size down. Too small and and no chafing is better then too big and chaffing. But like the other poster said call them and ask.
The thing is too. Your weight can be decieving making it size different. Im 6’ 160 and should be in a medium ITU trisuit, but im in the small because i have a short torso. So just an FYI.
Also i think you are looking at the wrong line. If its jsut the shorts you should be sizing more on your waist then how much you weigh.

Look in the second box, your weight shouldn’t matter too much for shorts.
My suggestion is to go with XL on the bibs and L on the tri shorts. For some reason the tri shorts fit me more loose than the 400mile.
If you go with L on the bibs there is the high risk of see through.
(Note: my experience is with the 2008 models, I don’t know if they have change things for 2009).
Having said that, just measure your waist and butt and call them, they will recommend you the exact fit.
I would second the comments above. I have bought a wetsuit and shorts from them in the past, and have had EXCELLENT fitting advice from their representatives. Perhaps Emilio De Soto should run GM for a few years…
The new 400 mile bib shorts are wonderful. I am around 190ish, can go 185-195 depending on my eating habits and the L are a great fit. I would think that the XL might be your best bet. After wearing these I can say these will be the ONLY thing I wear from here on out.

Thanks to you and to everyone else for the help. I will just call them instead of playing a guess game. ERIK
Desoto has excellent excpetional service and return are accepted. I’ve made one return as the Liftfoil tri suit just does not fit well. Husband’s First Wave Bibs split at the seam (after one race), but Emilio put another suit in the mail so he would a have his suit for a race the following weekend. No problems with the new bibs.
I size down in my shorts, but I am about 59.75 inches and good race wt for me is 115. So I am small by wt and x small by height. As my butt is fat doing the off season, the x small short become thin in back as the material is stretched(not worn out). Shorts last a long time and hold elasticity.
The 400 mile shorts are my only bike shorts as I probably have 10 pair. Did CdA in the 400 mile shorts. It might feel odd running in the 400 shorts at first. I like the 400 miles shorts better than I do the Desoto tri short for running.
