I’ve been enjoying reading emilio’s posts here about the new 07 products. I just wanted to post a new thread that I love De Soto products. When you consider what you get and what they charge, I think it is the best value in the sport. Plus he is here in the chat room patiently answering all the criticisms that crusty dudes are throwing at him.
Triathles…make sure to support this company. Thanks for the great stuff, Emilio.
PS–what ever happened to the first generation power tri shorts?..the ribbed material that covered the whole quad…Emilio do you have a stash of those somewhere in your warehouse?..because I will buy 5 pair if you do. I liked them much better than the shorter/smoth version.
amen, those older powershorts with the ribbed fabric were the best ever! oh, and his company is pretty cool too, although some cool sublimated prints would sure liven it up a bit. Emilio, a bit’o color maybe:)??
I AGREE! the older version of the shorts are still my favorite…GREAT compression!..I have 2 pair left…I will be sad when they are worn out…Emilio, bring back that ribbed fabric!

From a dealer perspective I can tell you DeSoto is a pleasure to work with. The clothing is innovative in design and reliable in manufacture too. I really like it and use it myself. I’m looking forward to the new 400 mile short and I’ve been using the base layer and the fleece tights lately. Nice stuff.
Did you know De Soto is now offering custom? You want colour? You got it. You are only limited by your creativity which has no bounds (Shameless Tai Graphx plug)
i agree completely. i usually never kiss ass as a customer, since superior product ***and ***over-the-top customer service is non-existent in the united states…but in desoto’s case he deserves full ass-kissing credit!

ps. i bq-ed in my favorite desoto low-cut tri shorts.
Thanks so much to everybody. JulianinEngland is correct. We went back to that Ribbed Lycra Power in 2006. So all you that have said you would order up, please do so.

I have been wearing De Soto products (tops and shorts) for years and love the products. They are affordable, of good quality and made to triathletes needs. Keep up the good work Emilio. I am one happy customer.
I have desoto tri gear and T1 wetsuit and like them - but one comment/suggestion. THe desoto website is very hard to navigate. You have to go to ‘products’ and then down the menu to the area you want, then move hte mouse cursor over - and make sure it doesn’t stray off the area of else the menu disappears.
I think it would be much better if you can go to a page with all the mens/womens racing or training gear, and then browse and compare. Right now, it’s hard to compare styles.
The ‘All Styles’ page sort of helps with this, but it lists EVERYTHING, and gives no descriptions. SO you’re still constantly going back and forth if you want to compare, say, black pearl vs first wave, or the various tri tops/bottoms styles.
NOt sure if that is making sense - but bottom line is I often find it frustrating to navigate the website.
thanks,
tom
I agree here also…GREAT products AND customer service…I am still usin the very first edition of the tri back pack!..the site however, could use some tweaking.
Hello Tom, You are the 2nd person that has commented on this in about 5 years. I have slowed the site down so that it is easier to navigate from one drop down box to the other. Are you on Windows XP? If so it is about the same speed as the drop down boxes that appear when you click start, and navigate through all programs.
I will see what I can do over time to make it better for you though.
Thanks - I can notice it’s slower - I am on XP. It is better this way, in my opinion. But, the main issue is that it’s hard to ‘shop’. i.e. hard to compare products. FOr example, under products → racing, there are 4 different tri shorts. It would take 4 menu navigations just to see all of them, and likely more since most people won’t remember all the differences with one view.
Enjoy,
tom
