Desoto American TTT

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/tips regarding the Desoto TTT.
My impression is that people might go out too hard for the prologue/Ind TT, and then are never really able to recover for the later events (esp the Half). At least, that is the sort of thing I could see myself doing. Would anyone who has done the race be interested in commenting?

I’m planning on running a 27 rear cog, as I am not much of a climber. Is that small enough, or should I consider putting a smaller chainring on the front (like a 39 or smaller?) I have NO desire to grind and spend months recovering from my torn up muscles! I am certainly not planning on hammering this thing. Just a steady pace and a good experience.

Thanks,

Philbert

Be careful on the descents. Our team sustained two serious injuries from crashes on the descents.

Thanks for the warning Tom. If you don’t mind me asking, what happened? Bad corners? Flat? Road debris? People in a draft legal race on aerobars?
