Thanks Dan for that very informative post. This is an area that is especially daunting for newer cyclists.
Here in Vancouver, the descents from the mountains are nice, but on some other routes, not so good. Those who know the route to Horseshoe Bay along Marine Drive will probably agree. The turns that are blind to the right and suddenly decrease in radius while going downhill.
Now that I have done them a few times its a bit easier, but its still nerve wracking. I almost have to get on to the yellow line to be able to do these kinds of turns.
