Depressing Thought: Hillary Clinton in '08

I’d take Slick Willie again just to keep that harridan from inhabiting the White House. He was at least entertaining. She’s just a grim cloud on the horizon.

Go Condoleeza Rice!!! (hee-hee)

Pat Buchanan Kahuna

Condi? one of the biggest advocates and salesmen of the war in Iraq? I think her chances are diminishing with each soldier’s death and with each day this war drags on. There is no way she is getting this albatross off her neck. Then there is the whole fact that America has unfortunately never elected anything other than white men who live in nice domestic situations. Unfortunately, they ain’t going for Condi. And hopefully dems won’t be going for Hillary, a sure way to fritter away the next election.

It looks like Clinton in 08 is a real possibility. The Democratic leadership in our country is in shambles and they’ll put her up as their choice. She’ll most likely lose.

The leadership of their party doesn’t appear to want to capitalize on the fact that the Republicans have come across hard times. Some of the hard times is self inflicted(indictments)…some was happenstance(9/11, war in Iraq, Hurricanes)…Tough decisions have had to been made in the last 5 years. The buck has been passed down from previous administrations that Bush is finally acting upon.

I’m glad somebody decided to man up, roll their shirt sleeves up and get to work on some really tough issues. I wouldn’t wish this job on anyone from either party but like it or not we finally have a President who’s getting to work and addressing issues.

“He was at least entertaining.”

Imagine how entertaining he could be if he wasn’t somewhat bound by the duties of the Presidency, and was just the First Husband?

"Condi? one of the biggest advocates and salesmen of the war in Iraq? "

Hillary is scary ain’t she? Reminds me of the school marm from hell. It’s a wonder she didn’t do a Bobbit on Bill. She’s smoothed out those road maps from her face, looks like she’s had a good old skin pull just after and probably instigated by Monica’s lewd behaviour with Bill. But that expression never really goes away does it? Think she’s just trying to save face and gain some esteem after what happened and this is the best way for her to do it? Well she won’t be getting the sympathy vote from me.

Barbara Bush. Now there’s a contrast. A real pleasant lady. A lady’s lady who doesn’t look like she needs to play a man’s role to get the control she needs. No need for packing her big dildo, double up when needed as a ram up her unsuspecting spouse’s orifice.

Yeah Go Condoleeza Rice! You da man! We need you to do the man’s job and do what needs to be done! Seems like you will have the kahunas needed. You got my vote. Finish off Iraq and keep close tabs on Iran and Syria and she’ll be prepared. Reckon we won’t get complacency from that lady. That face might not be pretty, but sure looks determined. And determination and commitment is what we need.

some was happenstance(9/11, war in Iraq, Hurricanes)…

I’m laughing, the war in Iraq is happenstance.

I’m not leaning either way in the election not knowing who is running yet, but I find it hard to believe the Republican party is going to rebound to win the next election. I feel there will be a backlash, warranted or not, against the party. My personal opinion is whoever the Republicans run out there is going to be a sacrificial lamb led to the slaughter. That is unless the Dems run someone insanely stupid who yells like a madman at a rally about where he’s going to go next.

“Pat Buchanan Kahuna”

Not down with Empire anymore? You think the war in Iraq is huge misadventure now? Cool. You are seeing the light

What is really sad is that she will play the “You hate me because I am a woman” card – when the real reason to oppose Hillary for President is that she is a communist.

It will be a sad day for the constitution of the United States and personal freedoms.

A communist and she eats babies and worships the devil.

The irrational hatred for Senator Clinton among the right wing in this country would be amusing if it wasn’s so frightening. If she is the nominee she’d be well advised to wear a flak jacket for the duration of the campaign.

People are very quick to forget that the 8 years of the Clinton Presidency were probably the most prosperous, peaceful, and progressive for all Americans in the previous 100 years. Hillary Clinton was an integral part of that success. Those years also proved to be among the most divisive and polarizing in our history because the right wing could not bear to see a popular and successful Democrat running the country and they did everything within their power…and quite a few outside their power…to destroy the Clinton Presidency.

As for personal freedoms, you should be more worried about Bushco than Hillary Clinton. Take a close look at the Patriot Act and see how that shreds many of your presonal freedoms. Only Republicans seem hell bent on telling the American people who they can sleep with, who they can marry, what their recreational drug of choice should be wether that be alcohol, marijuana, or there own personal favorite prescription tranquilizers and pain killers, only republicans want to tell a woman what she can and can’t do with her body, only republicans want their particular brand of religion imposed on our judicial system, only republicans want to pry into what you do as a consenting adult in the privacy of your own home.

What’s the flavor of the day, cool-aid drinker?

Its Koolaid.

What policies of hers’ do you hate the most? What about her positions makes you so afraid?

Dude – I have said it over and over again – George Bush is NO conservative and all you point out is correct about George W – and I do NOT support him.

That fact has absolutely nothing to do with Hillary – in my mind - she will continue What George W. is doing on the stripping of personal freedoms and then add to it.

As for Bill Clinton being the second coming of Christ – Put down the crack pipe!!!

What personal freedoms are you worried she’ll take from you?

What policies of hers’ do you hate the most? What about her positions makes you so afraid?

I’m more interested in which of her policies you believe gave America eight years of the unprecedented peace, prosperity, and progress that so many of us are so ungrateful for.

C’mon Vitus, thats Brian’s favorite trick…always answering a question with a question, you’re better than that.

Hillary Clinton is being painted as some sort of bogeywoman by you and others here. I’m curious why.

The Clinton Presidency can stand on its own merits.

Hillary Clinton is being painted as some sort of bogeywoman by you and others here.

I haven’t painted Hilary as some sort of bogeywoman. I only responded to your ludicrous statement that she played a major role in eight years of unprecedented peace, prosperity, and progress.

The Clinton Presidency can stand on its own merits.

In the first place, most of the peace and prosperity had little to do with Clinton. In the second place, it was, you’ll remember, *Bill *Clinton.

OK, my question is not directed at you but the others who have done the painting.

As for the Clinton Presidency and how much credit it can claim for the 8 good years we had, we can go around and around forever on that with you claiming they were lucky and me claiming good leaders make their own luck. Its been done 1000 times before on this forum and I have little intetrest in going over that well worn turf yet again.

my question is not directed at you but the others who have done the painting.

Fair enough- my question to you still stands, though, since it was you who painted her as the best thing for America since apple pie. What exactly did she do that contributed so significantly to all that peace, prosperity, and progress?

And since she looks to be your candidate in 2008, why should I vote for her? Because of her position on illegal immigration? On the war? What?

She’s definitely not my candidate yet and may never be. I think that ultimately even if she does outline a vision for this country which is most in line with where I think we should go I may pass on voting for her because her candidacy and her Presidency would perhaps be even more divisive then that of her husband or her husband’s successor…and that would be none of her own fault rather a reflection of the bitter and irrational hatred some on the right have for her. I think the country is sorely in need of someone who can unite and heal a few of our wounds and she is not that person.

As for her role in the Clinton administration, I think its pretty well documented that she was a de facto second Vice president much to Al Gore’s chagrin. She was involved in most if not all of the administrations major policy decisions and I think its safe to say she had the President’s ear.
