Denver/Boulder Races this weekend?

Are there any races in the Denver/Boulder area this weekend? Me and the future Mrs. are sneaking in for the weekend. She’s never been and I really wanted to show her the area. Any chance there might be a 5k or 10k somewhere this weekend?

We’re staying near downtown Denver, but pretty mobile.

Any help would be appreciated,

Jason

Well,

Too bad it’s a slow weekend. I wouldn’t want to be innundated with things to do!

Jason

Hey J – Actually, it is kind of a slow weekend. But you knew that. When are your nuptials?

October 28th. Same day as SOMA - Actually, losing a close family from the wedding as one is doing SOMA.

I was supposed to take her out to Denver last fall, but two weeks before we were supposed to leave, she found out she was getting laid off. To save money, we didn’t take the vacation, but ow I get a long weekend in Colorado with her at a better time of the year.

Maybe I can convince her to do the race in Nederland on Sunday. Follow it up with Neapolitans for lunch!!! Oh hell Yeah!!!

Jason

PS - I’m going to Lucille’s in Denver on Friday after we land (lunch) and Saturday morning for Breakfast in Boulder!!!

The Nederland race is a great one - pretty darn tough at 8,500’ or so, with some serious climbing. It’s definitley one of our favorites. But, if you can get a bike to use, the duathlon on Saturday is pretty cool - probably 300 or so folks on a fast 5K-30K-5K course. Head to Foolish Craig’s, though, vs. Lucille’s for breakfast in Boulder. Have a great time in the area!

Foolish Craig’s? Never heard of it. I ate at Lucille’s the day I graduated from CU in December of 1991. It’s my favorite restaurant in the world. Everyone I tell about it loves it.

I can’t wait for Beignets and Eggs Sardou!!!

Yummmmmmm

Jason

The Nederland race has been put off till July 15 - according to the website.

Otherwise I’d do it. I too am visiting CO for the weekend. I am thinking of just picking a nice trail run to do on my own. There must be some cool CO trail running websites somewhere.

Just saw that as well. I think maybe we’ll just run around the Wash Park area on Saturday. Sunday we’l probably find a trail near Idaho Springs or Georgetown.

should be a good turnout for the duathlon in wiggins. i heard that a certain kenny souza is in town and will be racing, too.
