Can something like this be fixed? It’s a small dent from a crash on my old QR Kilo. I have no need for this frame and would like to sell it off, but no one wants to buy a dented frame.
No, it can’t be fixed.
Most likely if it can be fixed, the cost of such a repair would easily exceed the expected resale value. If the dent is not adversely effecting the structural soundness of the frame but nobody wants to fork over any dead presidents, seems like a good time to think about Team Second Hand Racing.
I have to think that you can get something for it on Ebay, just take a picture of the dent and disclose it. If it really is minor, then why wouldn’t a new triathlete pay 300 bucks for the bike?
I tried Ebay a while back. No interest. But I guess I could try again. It’s still in decent shape as I wouldn’t dump a lemon off on someone.
I had a dent in my top tube for years, well after my insurance company was ready to write it off. Recently had the re-frame painted, during which they were happy to fill the dent. Looks like new. Of course it was a steel bike …
Get some spare parts and build a Ti chopper. You’ll be the first on your block, I’m sure.
You can TSR the frame! How much and what size if you were to sell it…
it’s a 52cm 650 QR Kilo (1999) frame/fork w/small scratches in all the normal places. Also has Ironlight cranks still on it. I think I also have the QR stem. I couldn’t even get a bite @ $100? TSR might be an option, but I would first like to try and get another bite of at least $150 (and that will cover shipping too)
I SO can use that bike!!! I have a woman (19) who wants to start racing tri…she is a runner and swimmer…and has a Murray MTN bike (going to U of I - I think)…I may be willing to pay that for the frame…let me do some checking. I would need someone to TSR 650 wheels though…
Don’t have any 650 wheels, is there anything else you are looking for?
about everything and anything. Have a need to try and finish a bike for a woman in Idaho that has a frame…and just a frame. I have sent allot of things out…got some thanks, had many send me parts - that I have been able to turn around more often than not in a week or less…
Sent out a HRM today to someone…
Whats the frame material? If its steel i can be worked out the make special blocks just for this type of thing, heck it might be worth it for the parts
