Jim Jordan, of the House Republican Study Committee, took the time to put into perspective what a thousand days – which is the length of time it’s been since any Senate Democratic with anything resembling a backbone helped to pass a federal budget – looks like:
-
A thousand days ago, there was no such thing as an iPad.
-
A thousand days ago, Tiger Woods was known only for his sterling golf game.
-
A thousand days ago, GM had never declared bankruptcy.
-
A thousand days ago, most of us would’ve said in response to the query, “what’s the Swine flu?”: “Huh?”
-
A thousand days ago, the national debt was 4 TRILLION DOLLARS SMALLER THAN IT IS TODAY.
There’s a nice, short (47-seconds) video from the committee at the link below:

Anybody care to bet on the likelihood of the Barack Obama/Harry Reid-led Dems in the Senate allowing a federal budget to be created anytime soon? I didn’t think so.
