Dehydration - do the symptoms often last more than 1 day?

I’m not sure if I have a cold or if I dehydrated myself. On saturday morning I did a pretty long workout in the heat, and felt tired all day after that. Starting getting dry mouth and sore throat, and later a headache in the evening. Now it is the next day, headache is worse. :frowning:

yes. you can have tiredness, etc, last beyond one day!

get some elctrolyte replacement and drink it up! also REST and eat hydrating healthy foods. you should feel much better tomorrow.

Quite possibly yes. Do you know how much fluid you lost? If so replace that, but not all of it w/ water.

No idea, this summer is the first time I’ve done long distance stuff in the heat. Guess it is time to get more scientific about hydration =)

nah, just do what I do. Slam 2 glasses of fluid just before leaving for your ride. Stop at the convience store and get 2L of fluid after 3hr or so. refill the bottles and drink the rest then ride on. When you arrive home, slam 2-3 glasses of water with an electrolyte tab or two and you should be good to go.
Or consider moving to cooler climates like I’m considering.

Sipping is usually better than “slamming”, prevents bloating.

you must have a cow’s stomach…that would make me hurl.

Ok, turns out I wasn’t dehydrated after all, just sick. I had upped training volume to a new high and I think I killed my immune system :frowning:

Or maybe I just got sick randomly, sigh

no bloating issues here with slamming, unless it’s Segrams 7. Somewhere after the 23rd or 24th shot things come back up, at least that is what I remember
