Deep rims, low spoke count, what about bladed spokes?

Do bladed spokes actually help with aerodynamics or does it just turn your wheel into a fan?

&

Do bladed spokes add rigidity to the wheel due to shape or just add weight due to extra material?

&

They look nice (we are told) and are all the rage, but are they actually just increasing the cost(point) of the wheel and any repairs should you need to change one/repair your wheel?
