deals abound!
oh man…wait, it’s gotten better. i emailed to see what sort of nonsense i’d get fed. here it is…
I am contacting you regarding the Cervelo P3 Carbon Campy TT bike, the price is $1,800.00 (not negotiable). Please take some time to read this email carefully, because I want you to understand how this transaction works.
The bike is in perfect working condition, never been involved in any accidents, everything works properly. The bike is currently located in Toronto, ON, M5E 1W7.
I am working in a project development business and I travel a lot change location, houses and I am now currently working in the biggest one of my career in London, UK and I need to buy another bike here very fast for my older son but I have to sell the Campy first.
A few days ago a person told me that he is very interested in purchasing and I had to fly back to CA to close the deal. Since I trusted his word, I came to Toronto the next day, but when I arrived I called him and he didn’t answer the phone anymore. The problem is not about the money that I spent for the plane tickets… but I lost 3 working days for nothing. Time is very precious for me as I am involved in some major events of my career right now. I am a serious person with family to support and this person really disappointed me.
I just want to make sure that you are seriously interested in buying this bike before we meet and I will fly to CA only if I have an assurance of your intentions. Of course it will be no problem if you decide not to buy it, though I am sure that you have no reason to change your mind because I know what I am selling and I am sure that you will love this bike. But I want to be sure that you will be there to meet me and handle the deal in a civilized manner.
The best way you can prove your serious intentions is to have the amount of $1,800.00 transferred into your name via Western Union, with London/UK as location. All you have to do is find a Western Union office in your town and go there with your best friend or your wife. He/she will have to send the money into your name(you being the receiver), funds should be available in London, UK(so that I can see that you are really interested). When the transfer is done you will send me a photo/scan of the payment receipt from W.U. so I can check if the deposit was made.
This way I will be sure that you will actually want the bike and I will fly to meet you within the next couple of days, depending of the availability of the plane tickets. You will test/inspect the bike and if you decide to buy it your friend/wife will call at WU and have the transaction location changed from London/UK to Toronto/CA and we will go together at a Western Union in Toronto, you will pick up the money, then we will take care of all the paperwork.
I believe my business proposal is reasonable for both of us.
If you are still interested in going further with the deal let me know as I have a lot of parties interested in completing the deal ant the bike might not be available until next week,
Cheers,
sounds totally reasonable.
There is a fishy ad on Fresno Craigslist for a brand new BMC TT03 for $700…
If anybody lost one let me know, I contacted the dude and have an email address and phone number.
Wow, that guy is down on his luck. Good thing he is being so reasonable with the transaction. This sounds 100% legit to me. I can’t believe the last guy wasted three working days for him!!! This is all being typed in a sarcastic tone.
tell him I have cash and can pick it up in person…I live about 45mins away from him.

the two transatlantic return flights are really going to eat into all that profit.
it is very nice that he’s willing to sell this complete bike for less than the cost of the rear wheel though.
You guys are jerks! I know the guy and he is really trustworthy. He is actually the son of late general Bosakasa, who was killed by rebels in Togo 3 months ago. The guy contacted me to help him recover the $103,000,000 left by his dad and he generously offered to pay me $10,000,000 after the transaction, simply if I sent $2500 to show my good faith. I’m flying to Lome next week and he is been very nice and put me in a great hotel for free!

why am I never this lucky? I wish I had friends in Algeria that needed help, I SO would be willing to assist.

that sounds like an amazing opportunity! maybe i could get in on that too?
Only nice folks get these deals!
i’ll keep everyone posted on this incredible opportunity. i’ve emailed back explaining that perhaps someone here in toronto could close the
deal. i wouldn’t want him to have to book ANOTHER transatlantic return flight to do it himself. that’s GOT to be eating into his profits…not that
profit would be his main concern…
