Wow…turns out we may “know” the four dead from the show on the Discovery Channel. Thank god only four went down…I am curious what all the 45+ crew did…on TV you would think there was about 8-12 on each boat.
The report that I read had it as a fisher/processor boat. The ones on the deadliest catch are just fisher boats. The extra crew are doing the processing. It also said the boat had 145,000gal of diesel on board. At about 7.5lbs/gal that is over 1million lbs of fuel, the boats on DC can’t hold that much fuel.
I was checking on line. I guess it first off turns out that you are correct, it is a process ship…and it has been on the show during an “off load” as best I can tell by internet rumor.
This was a catcher/processor trawling for atka mackerel in the Aleutian Islands. Not a crab boat. 4 dead, 40 some rescued and 1 missing and presumed dead. News report at www.alaskareport.com
